In the Classic tradition the additions to the original house form the Master Suite to the left and the Great Room and Kitchen to the right. Their masses are subjugated to the original and more dominant structure. The additions were thrust forward to preserve from the rear the vistas of the adjacent horse pastures. The hyphens are glazed to allow the original house to be viewed intact with minimal intrusion by the new additions.
