This 33,694-square-foot office/showroom in Newport News was constructed in just 10 months. Reflecting the company’s highly industrialized process and to meet the construction deadline, modular construction is used. The 4-inch insulated metal-skinned panels attached to perimeter columns create the exterior walls. These panels, finished on both sides, became the finished interior surface in the office to compliment the building’s high-tech interior. Using this construction technique the walls and roof could be installed simultaneously and shortening the construction period by 6 months. The client moved in prior to the January 1 deadline.

 Offsetting the highly industrialized exterior is an organic entry canopy serving as an artistic counterpoint.
