Travini Pumps of Italy located its American headquarters in Yorktown, VA to meet the demands of the expanding US market. In cooperation with the York County IDC, Travini Pumps occupied a 50,000-square-foot industrial shell building. Key to their industrialized process was the freedom to move pumps to various manufacturing cells and service existing pumps in the same facility. The combination of overhead cranes with the successive layout of manufacturing cells allows for both new assembly and the servicing of existing equipment within the same facility.
